What to expect of a travel agent
We though we were booking a cruise of the Greek Islands andinstead ended up with a Greek Hopper. We were given the Trafalger Book for review. We had asked for a cruise and did not receive our documents until three days before leaving (we had also booked a 5 day trip to Sicily to do prior to the cruise. The agent made our hotel reservations and airfare for that and got us to Athens in time for our tour) We were under the imprission we were taking a cruise and did not review the Trafalger book because our agent had said when our doucments came in , shw would have us in and review them with us. Unfortunately, when our documents came in, she was away and they were put in the safe only to be found by her acciidenmntally just before we left, so we neverhad our socsultation, and left cold turkey, only to find we were on a hopper and not a cruise. I know some of this is our fault because we should have read the brochure carefully, but assumming we had and agent looking out for us, we relied on that fact. We have met with the agent, who states 'miscommication', talked with her manager, and her supervisor. Her supervisor sent a letter denying any responsiblitity on the party of AAA, and sent a token of a gift certificate for 1 pound of See's Candy. I planto return it with a letter stating I will continue to pursue this maater.
I think we should be refunded all but the airline costs, since we did fly to Sicily We did not evenc omplaint to the agent that she had us booked into a hotel for two nights, flying out the next morning at 6:15 at an airport at least 75 miles away, so we had to cancel the second night and return to the airport to be there by 4: am for our flight to Athens. Is this a godd travel agent? Forgive the length of this complaint and hope for some feedback - good or bad.
